The Zoo
I took Aiden to the Oakland Zoo today for the first time. We met Chris, Becky and Tyler there and had a good time walking and seeing all the animals. Aiden loved the petting zoo the most.

18 Months Old

Aiden turned 18mo this week. He had an appointment this morning and weighs 26lbs and is 34" tall. He says 59 words that we can understand and a bunch in his own little language that only he knows. His favorite thing right now is reading and he'll bring you every book he owns and say "read" all day long. He's off the bottle as of last week, but still needs his binky. He's still very cuddly and loves to give hugs and kisses.

On the pregnancy front, I'm one week into my 3rd trimester and I'm feeling good so far. I passed my glucose test and did it without fainting, so that was a feat. We haven't decided a name for the little guy and I'm thinking it will be a last minute thing.

Joe played in the fireman olympics last week and took home the silver losing to the dreaded San Francisco Red. I hope to post pictures of that soon.

Joe left Tuesday for Chico where he is fighting the fires up there. He told me today that they may keep them for up to 14 days at a time. This picture was taken this morning after they worked through the night. Joe sounds beat so please keep him and his crew in your prayers.

We left last Thursday for a softball tournament in Steamboat Springs, CO. The scenery was beautiful and we had a beautiful house to go with it. The team rented a 3 story house that slept 15 for this "wooden bat only" tournament. For the occasion Uncle Rick made Joe a "Bam" bat which he won the homerun derby with and $450.00. With our own master suite, Aiden had his very own jacuzzi tub and T.V. When the team wasn't playing, we walked the adorable town and found little hole in the wall restaurants to dine in. There was a hot springs rec center in town where the 3 of us got to swim. Aiden loved the 2' deep olympic size pool that he could run free in. After a 4.5hr ride in the car to the airport, waiting for a shuttle from the rental car place, taking a tram to get to our terminal, and then being delayed for a 2hr flight, we were so happy to be home and in our own beds last night.

This was taken yesterday by "Nana" who was kindly babysitting so mom could get a pedicure before we leave for Colorado on Thursday. Aiden loves this rocking horse as well as the one at our house and can really get it movin!
