Aiden had his first day of preschool today at First Baptist in Castro Valley. He's been so excited about it and a little nervous. I was prepared for a tearful good by, but as we walked in he was so excited to see kids painting and playing with play-doh (2 forbidden things in our house) that he just wanted to jump right in! He gave me a kiss, said "By Mom," and that was it. When I picked him up he couldn't stop talking about the dinosaur book he found and that the slide shocked him and that a few boys were crying and he painted a picture for me. I wish I constantly record him talking because he has been saying the sweetest things. Last night I let him sleep with me because Joe was gone and I wasn't feeling good, so it was just easier to crawl into bed together and he looks at me and says, "mom, you're so pretty are ya?" He ends all his sentences with an "are ya," or "is it?" I think it's pretty adorable. And then at the dinner table I got him to try a spicy tamale and he told me it was good but it made his "teeth itchy."

Anytime Aiden says he wants or needs to do something Drew is right behind him saying, "me too." So this morning when Aiden said he had to poop, Drew ran after him saying "Poop Too!" I don't discourage him sitting there though I'm not about to try to potty train him yet. We just took down the rail in his crib so he can get in and out himself and he has been an angel. Aiden was awful when we switched him. I remember walking him back to bed up to 70 times a day. Drew hasn't got out once when put down.

Aiden filled up his potty chart with stickers so we promised him a day at Great America. We headed there the Friday before Labor Day to find it CLOSED! I was so bummed I felt like crying. He has been wanting to go for so long, so we detoured up to Redwood City to go miniature golfing and play video games. Aiden didn't seem to mind. He even got to ride the little boat with dad.

Do you notice anything missing in this picture? I did when I looked at it. My first thought was...Um, where' s Andrew's tooth?! After further investigation, I found that it is still there, just pushed back into his mouth and his gum was almost completely swollen over it. Joe mentioned that the day before he had come out of Aiden's room crying and bleeding from his mouth. He thought it was just a bloody lip. Who is this kid?

My big boys getting some quality wrestling time before Joe headed off to Seattle (and miss going on the San Bruno call) to visit a just retired Captain from Millbrae and hit the 49er game.
